If There is Nostalgia, There were Great Moments

If There is Nostalgia, There were Great Moments

That is something my friend Quique told me before leaving, and I could not agree more. My last month here has started and I see a lot of things ending and people with whom I had a special connexion leaving. And as this sentence shows it, what makes it hard is only the proof of my great experience as a volunteer here in Logroño. To go more in details about the recent events I will go back a bit more in time to give an idea of what my life has been about recently. Well for starters obviously with the frontiers of regions opening up I got to travel a lot more and to see great things that I did not have the opportunity to see before: I went to Valencia to see a great friend of mine, I went to Bilbao with some of my friends (who also happen to be my coworkers!) and much more.

A little while ago in the association, thanks to the days of sun that we have had for a while we got to organize a pic-nic in a parc with the pupils from the different groups or had open air classes within a school!

We then started preparing the final show of the different plays, organizing and all together taking care of the logistics and the lighting, videos, pictures and musics. These shows were the sign that the end of the classes was coming and even though the representations were great and everyone had a good time, it was difficult to say goodbye to the kids of my groups as I got to work with them and learn to know them during all of my volunteering experience. When that passed I had to say goodbye to Quique, my dear friend with whom I was working who left for a volunteering experience himself in Poland and my roommate and great friend Myrto who finished her experience here one month before I did, saying goodbye and seeing that end made me think about and have a reflexion about my time here, how it went by so quickly and yet so many things happened during these past months, how much I had learnt in the association and throughout my whole experience, the great people I had met through it and the great memories I had created, how it had opened my eyes on many different horizons and gave me an opportunity to know myself better as well. I find comfort in the fact that all the things I have done, all the people I met here will never leave me and will follow me on my new path. There are no endings just new beginnings!

Thank you for following me through my adventures and giving attention to my experience by reading these posts, lots of love to my very dear friends (and coworkers) from ON&OFF. Some of these people were basically family to me. Thanks for making my volunteering feel like a safe and happy space, a home, and filling this home with good vibes and fulfillment.

XO
